Leper Being Healed Craft

Using wooden ice cream spoons, you can make this cute craft to help your child remember lepers being healed from the Bible.  To create the clothes, cut a square of fabric to fit the size of your spoon.  Fold the square in half (like a hot dog), and cut a slit for the head to go into.  On one side, draw a sad sick face.

and, then on the other side, draw a happy face to show how they felt after being healed.

Here are 2 very easy crafts to do when teaching about the 10 lepers.

For this craft we cut out body shapes from construction paper and used white dot stickers (found at Wal-mart or any office supply store) and let the children stick leper spots on one side. We added a sad face to that side. On the other side the kids put a happy face and a band-aid to show that they were healed!

This is a really cute craft/take home for this lesson. We used wooden spoons and scraps of material to make these lepers. Just like the above craft we put a happy face on one side and a sad face on the other. On the side with the sad face we added puff paint to make leper spots. It does take a little while for the spots to dry so you might want to do this at the beginning of class if you want to send them home the same day. I did these with the 2 year olds at VBS and went early in the day and put the spots on and let the kids help add the clothes that night.

My kids enjoyed singing and pretending to dip in the Jordan River as we learned about Naaman. I found this song from Mission Arlington.

Naaman Gets Well

Seven baths did Naaman take, Naaman take, Naaman take.

Seven baths did Naaman take - count them all.

Seven baths made Naaman well, Naaman well, Naaman well.

Seven baths made Naaman well - count them all.

We would count to seven after the part in the song that says, "count them all." We would "dip" down each time we would say a number.

Naaman in the Jordan River

This morning, I taught about Naaman being made well. We made this simple craft to help us act out and remember the story.

I used blue plastic cups and cut a small hole (large enough for a Popsicle stick to get down)

at the bottom of the cup.I used a die cut man as Naaman and taped him to a Popsicle stick. The kids were allowed to put dots all over Naaman to make him leprous. Then we stuck the Popsicle stick with Naaman down into the cup.

The kids were able to dip Naaman down into the river 7 times to become clean.

They could turn the man over on the other side to be clean.

We enjoyed our lesson on how we should obey God no matter what His instructions are.

Naaman finally did and was made clean because he obeyed God.
