Melody Monday: Methuselah

One of my Bible class kids' favorite songs is "The Oldest Man - His Name Was Methuselah". It's sung to the tune of "The Old Gray Mare."

The oldest man - his name was Methuselah, name was Methuselah, name was Methuselah.
The oldest man - his name was Methuselah.
He lived a long, long time.

Me - thu - se - lah was 900 and 69, 900 and 69, 900 and 69.
Me - thu - se - lah was 900 and 69.
He lived a long, long time.

As we learn from Genesis, there are several character with difficult names. My students seem to learn better when I put the facts in a song. This is one of them.
